[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he 2016 presidential race has been a bumpy ride for both Democrats and Republicans. This exhausting election season has been one news story after the next. The two candidates are almost done with campaigning and it can’t come soon enough.
To celebrate the end of the election season and welcome in the new president voters can join the local AMC theatre November 8, on election night to watch the presidential race pan out from the big screen. AMC will be showing CNN’s coverage of the election around the country and has designated certain theatres to party alignments so viewers can either celebrate their victory or mourn their defeat. Elizabeth Frank, Executive Vice President and Chief Content & Programming Officer of AMC Theatres said in a press release, “On election night, as Americans gather in their communities to watch the conclusion of this historic election, we recognize that Democrats want to cheer with fellow Democrats, and Republicans cheer with fellow Republicans, so we’ve designated ‘Blue’ and ‘Red’ theatres in each participating market.”
The event being held at local AMC’s are free but only open to AMC Stubs members. Members are allowed to bring up to two guests. However, joining the Stubs program at AMC is free for the basic level and for premium level the cost is $15 a year to uphold membership.
The designated theatres for the coverage are as follows: AMC Disney Springs 24 is the Clinton (D) theatre and AMC Altamonte Mall 18 is the Trump (R) theatre. This is where supporters of either party are supposed to congregate together to watch the live coverage on CNN.
