[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Academic Success Center on Sanford/Lake Mary Campus has a new home because it has been relocated from building L to building J, Room 109.The new Academic Success Center opened for service on 11 January 2016.

“Our vision was to create a space that was truly designed for our students – one where they would feel comfortable and want to spend time completing their assignments, working with classmates and getting their work done,” says Joseph Huston, director of the Academic Success Center.

The new location features brand-new furniture and a 40-station computer lab arranged in an open layout that will provide a more comfortable space in which students can study and work. The center also includes a writing studio where students can get help on written assignments, and a specialized science lab fully stocked with models, microscopes, texts, study aides and more.

Lounge areas are available for student groups to gather and collaborate, and other technology – such as tablet computers – are available for students to check out.

In addition to the renovations to the room itself, the restrooms and corridors surrounding the new Academic Success Center have been upgraded.

The Academic Success Center continues to offer the same services, including tutoring, workshops, supplemental instruction, technical support, classroom-embedded tutors and online tutoring services.
