[dropcap]S[/dropcap]tarbucks has just recently released their new coffee cups for the holiday season. With last years meaningless controversy surrounding the lack of winter imagery on their cup designs the attention to Starbucks cups came up again.
The controversy of last year’s cups came from some Christian consumers insisting that Starbucks put the Christmas back into coffee cups. Claiming that the lack of festive decoration was an attack against their religion and contributed to the oppression of political correctness.
Starbucks came back this year partnering with agency 72andSunny and returning the wintery spirit to the cups by using designs that consumers drew on last year’s plainer cups. With the inclusion of snowflakes, reindeer, and Christmas lights making a return to the cups the controversy has quieted down this year.
Although Starbucks learned last year that the cups don’t seem to matter much in the end, people still made their way in droves to the one of the nations favorite coffee makers regardless of the coffee cup design in front of them.
