[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith the holiday season approaching no one does it better than Walt Disney World. Between the sparkling lights and cheery music, nothing tops it off better than the festive holiday treats the parks and resorts have to offer. Drinking hot chocolate and eating a festive cupcake while watching the nightly fireworks, is a great way to end a day at the park. (Not ranked in any specific order).
- Holiday Cupcakes
While Disney Resorts offer cupcakes all year long, when it comes to holiday’s, they blow it out of the park each year. Along with vanilla and chocolate dressed up with festive sprinkles and chocolate shaped Mickeys with painted Santa hats; they also offer new flavors of cupcakes. This includes gingerbread with cream cheese frosting and strawberry cheesecake filled chocolate cupcake with holiday sprinkles on top with a star to top it off.
4. Hot Salted Caramel, Hot Chocolate
Anytime of the year anyone has access to simple hot chocolate, but how many times do you get to say you’ve had hot salted caramel, hot chocolate? Well at the Germany pavilion at the World’s Showcase in Epcot that is absolutely possible! With a hint of butteriness and a back note of saltiness. Hitting all your taste buds at once.
- Black Forest Milkshake
If a cold treat is more your style, you’re in luck! Over at Hollywood Studios at Min and Bill’s Dockside Dinner, guests are able to get a black forest milkshake special for this time of the year. With a cherry milkshake as the base a dark chocolate drizzle accompanies it.
- Pumpkin Spice Waffles
Over at Sleepy Hollow at Magic Kingdom you can grab a few different varieties of “waffle sandwiches.” During the holiday season guests are also able to experience the taste of pumpkin spice waffles. With whipped cream and Christmas sprinkles to top it off, it’s the perfect treat. This also pair well with a cup of hot chocolate while people watching or viewing the parade.
- Gingerbread
Many of the resorts and parks offer various forms of gingerbread. From ones shaped like Olaf from the Disney movie Frozen and others just in bark form. By far the best experience to have when going on your gingerbread exploration is to buy one from within the life size gingerbread house from Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel and Spa. Other participating resorts may have different variations within this such as the gingerbread tree at Disney’s Contemporary resort.
Even if Christmas isn’t your thing or you don’t personally celebrate Christmas, I would highly suggest taking a look into the holiday treats that Disney has to offer. From sweet treats to spiced waffles, there is something for everyone.
