[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hether your #beachbod is ready for summer or not, swimsuit season is here! Here are the styles to look out for at your local swim shop:
The One Piece
In this modern age, for some odd reason, one-piece bathing suits are making their way back into stores! They’re a newfound growing trend that has slowly been creeping onto people’s bodies… makes me shiver just thinking about it. This bathing suit could give a sexy Baywatch feel, if that’s what you’re going for, and you can find some cute ones at Forever 21 for only fifteen bucks.
The High-Waist Bottom
Ladies, you know that bathing suit Rachel McAdams wears in The Notebook? Don’t you just have to have it? Same. It’s now back in style! In the words of Slim Shady: “guess who’s back, back again!” With a 2016 twist, the high-waist bottoms now have cut-out patterns, such as the triple bar and the tringle wedge look. If you don’t mind the awkward tan line (let’s be real, we all hate that and you can never get rid of it), this is the vintage suit you need to complete your Tumblr aesthetic.
The High Neck Line
Halter tanks aren’t the only thing with rising neck lines—that style has migrated over to swimsuits as well. Along with those high bottoms, this odd neckline is going to leave you with a weird-looking tan line that will take a few more beach sessions than normal to get rid of. Given that we live in Florida, that shouldn’t be a problem at all. Just another reason to go back! You can get a PINK brand halter bathing suit top at Victoria’s Secret in a variety of colors and textured with beads or sequins.
The Strapless
One top that will never go out of style is the strapless bathing suit. This is my personal favorite only because it leaves you WITHOUT WEIRD TAN LINES. I suggest going for the ones that resemble the Triangl bathing suit tops, only because it’s abstract and the colors contrast well against tanned skin. If that makes me basic, so be it! It is an essential piece that every girl should have in her swimsuit drawer to help make her feel like a million bucks.
Fringe
Fringe. Fun. Fashion. The three f’s to go by when swimsuit shopping. The fringe style is still in, making more of a playful and fun look on the beach this season. For those of us with a little sense of style adventure, fringe should be your BFF. It just gives a summery feel opposed to dark, plain bathing suits that get you sun burned quicker. Sticking with brighter colors and extra fabric to distract everyone from an inevitable wedgie is a sure fire way to be looking #fireemoji in front of all your friends.
With so many styles to choose from this season, it all comes down to picking one that you feel comfortable in. It’s almost like a personality test: Which bathing suit style are you? Now wouldn’t that be something? I’m sure such a quiz exists somewhere so if you find it, take it and find out what suit suits you!
