
[dropcap]R[/dropcap]obert De Niro plays a widower and Dakota Fanning’s father in the thriller (2005) Hide and Seek. De Niro is a Psychiatrist whose wife recently committed suicide and moves himself and his daughter to a more rural area to start a new life. When Fanning’s character starts saying she has a new friend named Charlie, De Niro believes she made an imaginary friend and he doesn’t seem very nice, because horrific things keep happening and she always blames Charlie. This movie also has multiple endings.

Signs (2002) starring Mel Gibson is about a man of the cloth who lost his wife in a car accident, leaving behind him and her two children, and lost faith in god. About a year later crop circles are left on his property, and his dog and children start acting strange. They believe it’s an alien invasion. It gets really intense, really fast.

If you want to scare the pants off yourself before a camping trip, (1999) The Blair With Project is a found footage movie about three young adults that go into the woods after interviewing, and not getting many answers from, the towns people about the Blair Witch. The videos show some terrifying events. Don’t go into those woods.

The Others (2001) is a supernatural thriller starring Nichole Kidman as a soldier’s wife of WWII. While waiting for her husband to return home, she sends for help around her mansion and with her children who have a rare light sensitivity. As soon as help arrives, things go missing, and eerie sounds including door banging and pianos playing right in front of you begin to happen. Her religion won’t let her believe in ghosts, and she won’t believe she has gone mad.

There are mysterious, gory, freaky, and unexplained deaths happening and they believe a video tape is to blame in (2002) The Ring. Once you watch it, you have seven days to live. At first it seems like a joke, but then a few friends actually die. When one journalist gets ahold of it, she actually goes to the island where it was made to find out where it came from and why.
