The Bridge

She stood on the bridge
Still with silence and fear
For her demons in the darkness
Have driven her here
They cut deep into her heart
Right out of her chest
Making her believe
That they knew what was best
They were always there
But never in plain sight
Waiting in the background of her shadows
Till the time was right
These demons were destructive
Knocking down every bit of the life she knew
They hated everything about her
Making her hate herself too
These demons can’t be seen
But they’re far from fairy tales
They live inside your mind
Their darkness always seems to prevail
So on the bridge she stood
About to end the neverending fight
Then she stepped down from the bridge
And decided to fight them one more night

The Journey

Your journey has ended.
But, mine has just begun.
Your stopping place in life is my destination.
Just as the planets to the sun,
We make our way through a great journey of life.
But like the Earth to the Sun it’s resting place provides us warmth and hope.
For us our destination is a place far greater than we know.
And when my journey ends we’ll be together again in that place of hope.
